Movement mechanic
Charging (trait)
Movement mechanic · documented from build 1327 data
A creature with the charges trait multiplies its movement speed by roughly 2.2× while closing mid-range distance, then drops back to base speed once it makes contact. 190 creatures carry it in build 1327.
The multiplier only applies in the approach band. That produces a counter-intuitive rule: the safest places to stand are in contact or well outside the band. The middle distance — the one that feels safe — is exactly where the creature is fastest, and it is where most deaths to charging creatures happen.

Freezing and chill effects are the only reliable brake, because they scale the movement value the multiplier is applied to. Creature articles show both figures side by side in the movement row — base speed, then charging speed.
